A
significant focus of APAC's research is the potential for new agricultural
products or expanded uses to provide income opportunities for the
traditional ag sector and rural communities. We have especially
focused on the intersection of agricultural policy and energy. Examples
of this research include investigations into the production of biomass
crops for energy, production of oilseed crops for use in a biodiesel
fuel blend, the expansion of corn-based ethanol production, and
the potential for the ag sector to store carbon to address pollution
problems.
